Meet the (State) Farmers.

Dorcas Tao Hi, I'm Dorcas. Aesthetics# jkjk!! Hi I'm Dorcas and I'm currently a junior! At school I am very active in the theater department as head costumer. Although I am not a big fan of nature, I do love going on hikes with my family and pup. This garden project really made me realize that I am not cut out for the farming lifestyle. Nonetheless, I did learn a lot and enjoyed the process, however successful or unsuccessful we were. (: Ethan Chen #1 I love food. Being able to eat the food in our garden is what motivates me and my family group to nourish our crops with love and nutrition. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the sprouts of our plants on a beautiful day and watching them grow to perfection. Hi, my name is Ethan Chen and I'm a Junior at Arcadia High School. On my free time, I love to play the snare drum in Arcadia's percussion program. I am also a Life Scout, in the process of becoming an Eagle Scout, in Troop 125. APES has taught me a lot in this short, yet rewarding year of my high school career. This garden has provided me an awesome experience and it has served as a huge milestone in my accomplishments of this year. Ethan Chen #2 Our time in the garden together has not only been enjoyable but interesting as well. Despite the many mishaps that occurred, most notably the potato mishap, we learned many new skills that we will carry into the future. Through gardening, I learned patience, time management and organization, all of which are life skills that are best taught in a non classroom environment. In my down time, I enjoy reading and hitting the gym (although no progress has been shown yet for either one). Although APES has been one of my most challenging courses, it has been a rewarding journey and I wouldn't trade my time in APES for anything. Gavin Tsang "This garden is incomparable...like a...uh..." Welcome to the BatCav- I mean our garden. Here, you'll find plenty of greens, greens, and more greens, because that's basically what color most vegetables here are. On the bright (colored) side, we have some carrots and potatoes that are sure to brighten your day. My hope for this garden is that even after we leave, people will be able to plant, grow, and harvest food from here so that you yourself can feel like a real positive citizen of the world. Or maybe just the garden. Same thing. Julia Heer My name is Julia Heer. I am a senior at Arcadia High School and I am currently enrolled in AP environmental science. I love cats. Cats are the best creatures to ever live, besides unicorns. If I ever encounter a Unicorn, it would probably be in our wonderful garden because our garden is the most magical garden ever grown. This is because we nurture our garden with love and care. In all seriousness, I would not be surprised to find a dragon in the other gardens because they don't love their garden as much as we do ours. |
